A 41-year-old Orland Hills woman died Tuesday in a house fire, according to authorities. Jessica Maurer identity was released Wednesday by the Cook County medical examiner's office. The Orland Fire Protection District responded at about 2 p.m. Tuesday to the fire in the 8900 block of Beacon Lane, according to a news release. One person escaped the home but Maurer was trapped and had to be removed from the home, according to the release. She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 2 p.m.
